A friend of mine is delving head first into full time life coaching as a career! He is passionate about coaching leaders to help them reach their personal & faith goals. His new company is called, "Renew Your Calling"!
Before you think, "Hey can any ol' schmuck just start a 'Life Coaching' business?!" I suppose the answer to that is "yes", however Curtis is a trained coach through CoachNet Global. To celebrate the launch of his own coaching business and website, Curtis wanted some custom photography of him and a couple of clients for his website.
Below and to the right are a few of the photos and don't forget to check them out at: "Renew Your Calling".
If you think your business will benefit from custom stock photography feel free to contact me through the contact form or give me a call!

I'm excited to say that this past weekend, July 24th, 2017, I was given the fantastic opportunity to photograph, the Lutherans Over The Edge fundraising event! The event was held to raise money for the local Lutheran churches in the Cleveland area!
The event took place at the Double Tree hotel in Downtown, Cleveland. 21 excited rappellers raised money to descend the 9 stories from the roof of the hotel to the top of the parking garage below!
The equipment & expertise was provided by Over The Edge USA. A very professional and competant company that specializes in helping non-profits put on these types of fundraisers!
The day was full of energy as their were games, families, balloon animals, food and a DJ! It was quite an event!
Following are a few images from the day! Check out videos of each rappeller at the Lutherans Over The Edge YouTube Channel. If you want to order a print of someone rappelling please feel free to email me at: joe@joeboylephotography.comPhotoshoots, Events, Charity
I had the opportunity to hike the Wonderland Trail in Mount Rainer National Park! I went with a good friend of mine for 10 nights and 11 days. Here are a couple of my thoughts:
- It was cold! Think of winter backpacking without the snow! Luckily (and due to *some* planning (e.g. A lot of planning), we had enough gear to keep warm. I still would have liked an extra layer.
- It was beautiful! I do wish I could have gone earlier in the year when the wild flowers are in bloom, but you need a permit to hike the trail and this was the best available dates so I had to take it or leave it. By the way, it took me 3 years to be able to even “get in” to have a permit at all. That’s how popular this trail is!
- I would do it again if it was earlier in the year.
All in all it was a great trip and the most beautiful thing about it was I was away from instant communication for that time. Being out in nature is healing and restorative in and of itself and when that’s coupledTravel, Wildlife
This past Memorial Day I was so fortunate to be able to see one of my favorite bands in concert - Over The Rhine! This husband and wife duo have been making music for 25 years and their kicking off a new chapter with a "Barn Raising." There's a lot of back story to why they chose to do this - go ahead and check out their site and read all about it. The short of it is, it's a new way for them to continue making and performing music while at the same time have a presence in their community and help young budding poets and musicians.
This past Memorial Day weekend was a 3 day concert to raise funds for the Barn. I wasn't originally able to go, but when they opened up the idea of bartering "work-for-a-ticket", I was on board! I was happy to help and they put my sister (she also came with me) and myself in charge of the merch table. It was fun talking to other fans and helping guide new fans as to what albums they might most appreciate hearing. Here are some photosPhotoshoots, Concerts, Events
Earlier this year I went on a trip to Michigan for a few days with some good friends of mine. It was a great time! Fires every night, board games, plenty of fishing (hardly caught anything though!) and a beautiful lake that provided wonderful photos! I was able to catch a beautiful sunrise one morning and a Heron the next. It was an all-around good time filled with friends and photos! Here are a couple of my favorite from the trip!

The Cleveland Airshow might very well be one of my favorite times in Cleveland. I love the jets! The blue angels! Ever since I was a kid I've been fasinated with planes and flying. I even looked into joining the Navy for that very purpose in High School, but I didn't (and still don't) have perfect vision and I felt like I couldn't get a straight answer out of the recruiter. Go figure... Here are some of my favorite photos that I was able to capture over the weekend!
And they say never to point your camera at the sun! Psh.
All these colors were naturally present in the photograph. I did make them stand out a bit more in photoshop. I think the polarizer filter helped to bring out the colors!

Good ol' Number 5. That seagull is lucky.
I'm not sure why they fly with their landing gear down. I guess cause it looks kinda cool.

A couple weekends ago, some great friends of mine were having a family get together and hired me to photograph the day! It was a great day spending time with friends and meeting more of the family, which in a lot of ways have become an extension of my family. Here are some of my favorite photos of the day!

I was up during the early morning hours today. I had a video to work on for another client and I wrapped up around 5:30am... I thought to myself, "I should check out the sunrise this morning!" I quickly glanced out the window to see if it looked like it was going to be a "good one". It sure did, so I headed down to the park and took these pictures! I hope you like them!
Sunrises And Sunsets
I like it when I meet cool people. The obvious response to that is, "Who wouldn't?" I had the opportunity to meet one such cool person, Evan Weiss from Into It. Over It. An Indie Rock / Emo band originating in Chicago.
Evan during his interview with Chris from Stereogum.
While on assignment for an online magazine, Stereogum, I was able to talk to Evan for a brief time and was impressed by his passion, kindness & genuineness. He then proceeded to rock out at the Grog Shop! The fans were crazy and awesome as they were literally hanging from the ceiling and pressing in on the stage. Here are some of my favorite photos from the night, I hope you like them! Check out the full article on Stereogum's website - "Hell Fuckin' Yeah!"

I had the honor, joy, & privilege to join my friend Joe (yes we have the same name) in the St. Patricks Day parade held in downtown Cleveland! I got a front row seat with the Local 17 Elevator Constructors. I got to meet some great people and have a fun albeit, cold day! Here are some of the pics from the day!! Enjoy!

It has just turned 2014, so at the time of writing this I can say, "late last year!" and it only means a couple months, weeks or even days ago! Ok, enough foolery with time... Late last year I was contacted for some photography work for Meaden & Moore. They are a nationwide tax & business consulting firm located in Cleveland, New York & Los Angeles to name just a few locations! I even found out afterwards that one of my friends used to work in their Akron, OH office!
Meaden & Moore was launching a new website and wanted some fresh photography of their office and new employees. I worked with SyncShow Interactive who did a fantastic job at spear-heading the project. They were in charge of building the website and implementing the photos I took. It was great working with them and Meaden to get the photos they wanted! Everyone at Syncshow and Meaden are a fun group of people who made the photography day so much fun and enjoyable! I've been sitting on these photos for awhile! But I like sharing my travels. I visited some friends in Virginia this past summer and we visited some historical sites such as Yorktown and The Mariner's Museum. It was pretty cool seeing cannonballs embedded in the side of a house and the decaying growth along the lake shore. Check out a few of the photos here, I hope you enjoy!
Cannonball in the side of a house! I wonder what that sounds like if you're inside the house...
Gnarly looking tree!
Cannon and a Yorktown Onion. It's weird to think this was fired at a group of people...

This sounds wierd, but I thought this tree stump looked cool.

I had the pleasure of visiting some friends in California this past month. They live in Monterey and they are some great people! While I was there they were sure to show me around to some cool places and I did a fair amount of exploring on my own!
Monterey and the surrounding area is super nice! I was able to see some great sunsets in Pacific Grove and for you Steinbeck fans out there I spent a lot of time walking around Cannery Row and even visited the Steinbeck Center in Salinas. It was awesome! Here a few of the images from the trip, I hope you enjoy!

I had the privilege to have a couple of family photoshoots this fall! Autumn is such a beautiful time for such an outing! One of the photoshoots that I really loved was with the Medved family. Mike and Jen along with their 4 little ones were so much fun! They had so much good energy and the kiddos *generally* loved posing for the camera. That makes it so much more fun & enjoyable from a photographer's standpoint.
The whole clan!
We went to a couple of their favorite parks around the Cleveland area and then spent a little bit of time at their home. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day!

So I had the great opportunity this summer to visit Washington D.C. It's kind of a long story but I was actually heading down to Virginia to buy a car. Along the way we visited a friend and relative who lived in Maryland. We visited the Smithsonian and all the other monuments in Washington, D.C. Check out all my Photos Of Washington D.C.
World War II Memorial Fountains (Pacific Pillar)
What I really enjoyed about this trip to D.C. was that we were able to see the monuments at night! It was really cool to see the light on the Lincoln Memorial, The World War II Memorial and the Washington Monument. The fountains and waterfalls at the World War II Memorial were especially great to capture at night! Here are few pictures from my trip. There is something that feels good about showing who you are, what you do or have done that you are proud to display. I'm pretty sure this is the universal feeling of wanting to be known... I had the joy and fortunate opportunity to share a little bit of myself at the Loop Coffee Shop in Tremont!
Every month Tremont holds an Art Walk where a bunch of establishments (Coffee shops, galleries, salons, spas, etc.) display some sort of artwork. The Loop supports many local artists and displays photos, paintings and pretty much anything you can hang on a wall! Last Friday, (September 13th) was the kickoff event for September's Tremont Art Walk. Loop brought in a cool band, "Daylight is the Dream", they rocked it! Quite a few people came out to see the artwork and hear the music!
If you're in the Cleveland area and want to see my nature photos displayed, visit the Loop! 2180 W.11th Street, Cleveland, OH 44113. My photos will be displayed until October 11th and are $50Events
