I was walking through a local park one day with a few of my friends and we came across these birds sitting on a tree at a really cool time of day when the light looked really neat.

This is a photo of the Merced River after Vernal Falls on the John Muir Trail. I believe this was the first or second day into the 3 week trip of the JMT so it is very near the start of the trail if you're beginning in the north.

I was on tour with MegaDeth during their 2012 "Countdown to Extinction" tour. We had a stop over in New Dehli, India and had a chance to see a few sights. The Taj Mahal being one of them! I'm not usually super impressed by buildings and such but this one takes the cake! It really is magnificent. This picture is from the inside of the Taj Mahal looking at 1 of two mosques that are built right next to the Taj Mahal.

I went out one day during the fall and I came across a few cool things to shoot. I walked right by these seeds hanging from the tree but then I stopped and took another look at them and thought, "There is something here" and this is the photo that I came up with.

This waterfall scene was taken after a major river crossing on the John Muir Trail. Crossing it, I felt like the river was going to whisk me away which would not have been good! On the opposite side of the waterfall it's a rather steep drop - it would be most painful if not deadly to fall down. I suppose that is strong enough motivation to keep your legs underneath you plus you do a lot of praying in those moments! :)

After we left Mowich Lake Campground, my buddy and I decided to take the Spray Park trail instead of the Wonderland Trail Proper. I read in Bette Filley's book, "Discovering The Wonders of the Wonderland Trail" that Spray Park offers some magnificent views whereas the Wonderland Trail is more forested and covered. The only catch is that if it's bad weather, Spray Park is absolutely miserable as there is no cover and it's the highest point on the trail. Thankfully we lucked out and had blue skies and great views! Here is a photo of Hessong Rock as seen from the Spray park Trail. As I was traveling in Hawaii, I stopped by the Pearl Harbor Museum. While there, I toured the USS Bowfin. The Bowfin was direct response to the attack on Pearl Harbor which is eveident from it's name "Pearl Harbor Avenger" http://www.navy.mil/navydata/cno/n87/usw/issue_33/bowfin.html

This is a photo near the start of the trailhead for the Kolob Canyon Trail in Zion National Park. The trail was a beautiful and pleasant 14 mile round trip. My hiking buddy Caleb and I hiked it together and saw the Koleb Arch near the half way point. Interestingly, I noticed the terrain changed quite a bit as we descened. It started off as I expected,... rocky. Their were large sections, however that were quite sandy. That slowed us down a little bit, but not too much. I just didn't expect it!
